| The Hans Christian Andersen 2005 Foundation granted DKK 231 million towards funding the bicentennial celebrations. The largest contribution, amounting to DKK 80 million, came from the Bikuben Foundation and the rest was provided by national, regional and municipal authorities. 80% of the funds were allocated to cultural and artistic sponsorships. 10% were spent on PR, communications and marketing and an additional 10% were spent on funding the Secretariat.
